Hi. I'm John Relyea. I’m a general contractor who specializes in home remodeling. As part of the building process, I always set up a cutting area, which consists of a 4’X8’ – 3/4” sheet of plywood laying on two sawhorses. This old sheet of plywood literally becomes my cutting board. Every time a make a cut with the skill saw, or drill holes, or chisel away at something it leaves a mark and scars this plywood. So, I decided to make something unique with these pieces of plywood that I would otherwise just throw away. With a bit of imagination and some sanding, staining, and painting I’ve been able to create a new kind of art: Plywood sculptures. All of my pieces are basically made the same way: they are all made out of plywood. Only the job sites and results are different.
